Dear Blog,
How have you been? I've not seen you for a day, I'm doing pretty well. Today, I procrastinated the whole day. I told myself that I was going to study for my physics test, but I just played game after game of spider solitaire. God, that game is so good. Right now I'm eating some chicken nuggets, I have 7 empty glasses next to me, just trying to paint a picture of how I am at the moment. Anyway, what I'm here for. I'm going to tell you a story. My friend, Briah, asked me to write a post regarding this particular story. The story isn't finished yet, but I shall tell you about it as it happens.
One lunch time a few weeks back, a couple of my friends told me they were off to audition for theatre sports, I'm not going to give you a definition of theatre sports because I can't be bothered and to be honest I really don't know what it is, but it's in front of a crowd. I, personally, quite enjoy watching theatre sports, sometimes it's even funny. So, I asked if I was allowed to come and watch. My friends replied with something along the lines of "You'd probably have to audition". I auditioned. I did this because I knew I would be absolutely terrible and there was no possible way I'd actually get on the team.
Oh no. I just spilled water all over my chicken nuggets. Eff.
Anywho. I went to that audition, had a good time, then a few more after that. Then, my dear friend, Yvonne, told me I was actually being considered for the team. I immediately stopped going to the auditions. You may or may not know this about me, but I am unable to stand in front of a group of people I somewhat know and stay a healthy looking colour. I really, really did not want to get on the team, I figured it would be the end of me. I would stand up on stage, in front of all of those people, wait a moment, then faint. Wouldn't that be great.
The day came for the names of those who were chosen for the team to be announced. I decided not to go, because I believed if I didn't go, they would think I wasn't exactly interested and I wouldn't be chosen. I was wrong. Later that day, I was innocently sitting in my maths class, trying to get my work done, when my dear friend, Yvonne, walked past. I was polite and waved, but then she strangely started jumping up and down, pointing at me with a hude grin on her face. It took me a moment, but I soon realised what she meant. I was on the team.
Initially, I freaked out because, as I've said before, I'm not good with crowds. But apparently some people would be angry at me if I didn't do it, so I reluctantly agreed. Last Thursday I went to a training session where I learnt what the games were, etc, etc... It was all very exciting, as you would imagine.
That's my story so far. As the year goes on, I'll probably tell you more about my journey with theatre sports and how much I love it, because it's the only thing I'm doing with my time, other than sitting at my computer.
Thanks for the chat, Blog. I'll talk to you later.
Love,
Sophie.

ReplyDeleteAwww!
Haha! You would be amazing at theatre sports, don't worry about it. Just act like you're a snob and nobody will think that you're nervous. :D
